The client, a rapidly growing staffing company based on Michigan was experiencing a loss in productivity and increased administrative costs to carry out its staffing operation to fill in positions for its OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automotive Companies. This Veteran Owned, mid-sized Staffing Company wanted to reduce duplicate entries and unforced errors, and also eliminate paper completely.
Furthermore, the client wanted to eliminate expenses due to the license fees and customization of the current applicant tracking system. “This surely is a waste of money and resources; I am spending well over $1,500 per month on license fees, office supplies, and non-value added activities” says the President of the client company (name withheld at client request), “and this does not even include the waste of effort and time and, the frustration !!”

IPS Technology Services proposed a new web based, custom application that would streamline the process with features that are required by the delivery model which will also provide seamless integration among various steps and third party software packages and services such as job boards, job portals, client’s own website and the payroll system. Integration with Payroll system apparently, a huge value to the client as it can start and stop payroll payments eliminating reconciliation efforts. IPS TS has also implemented a number of screening mechanisms and business logic to reduce the actual number of applicants needed to be interviewed resulting into a huge time savings for the agents and recruiters.
“Now that it has been launched, our next step is,“ says Pradip Sengupta, President of IPS Technology Services, “to expand this application to include Time Reporting, Activity tracking, Communication Log, and other HR and Benefit functions. Work has already begun in these areas.”
IPS used Microsoft ASP .Net and C# with SQL Server database as the platform to build this application. It is now hosted at IPS data center in Michigan. The development effort was less than 6 months where a combination of Agile and Incremental Development Methodology was used to delivery.
