The client, a one billion dollar rapidly growing company, located in South East Michigan wanted to have a common portal to search and share documents to minimize the administrative workload. Sharing documents such as Company Policies and Procedures, HR Benefit Enrollment Information and other HR policies, Marketing materials and other items became increasingly more difficult. Additionally, there are no common way or place to make the employees aware of important news and critical announcements (DR drill, System Outage, etc.). It was getting more and more time consuming to keep up with Email distribution and phone calls.
So, they called IPS Technology Services with a focus on SharePoint Development in SE Michigan.
IPS Technology came on board, assessed the situation, and presented a common shareable framework using SharePoint with business benefit in mind. It set up a regular weekly meeting to define and analyze requirements to develop an appropriate solution. It took an agile and incremental approach to develop the final outcome to avoid any last minute surprise for the client. The system was developed locally at IPS site, tested in the client environment, and finally launched into production following client’s IT procedures.
IPS used a comprehensive approach to build this solution using its SharePoint Consulting, Development and Administration skillset. A team of 5 with different SharePoint expertise was used to resource this project. We delivered the solution at the best price point to give the best ROI for our clients.
Based on the feedback received, it seems like this project was very successful as the users have starter to use this solution. The client is not in the process of setting up an enhancement and support contract with IPS to provide SharePoint services for the upcoming years.
